Spring Break Giveaway!

So the awesome folks at snubbr.com are hosting a giveaway for ya'll :)

Snubbr is a sight that recommends things for shoppers, ranging from books, to makeup, to electronics and so much more. It offers gift ideas and ways to go green as well. Snubbr recommends products to you and then tells you where you can buy them. This sight can be quite helpful for finding books, all you have to do is ask an expert a question (for example: what are some good manga books? Or Asian American books?) and they will make a list of recommendations for you.

My giveaway is themed with books about Asian Americans. The books being offered are: (click on the link for the full list, I just wanted to share the information on the YA book being offered, the rest are adult fiction and nonfiction titles). I've only read She's So Money, but the rest of the books do sound interesting (especially Cloud Mountain by Aimee Liu)

What: 6 books. 1 winner=1 book

Asian American Books

She's So Money by Cherry Cheva

My review

Who knew that getting in trouble could be so much fun?

Maya has always been the good girl. Camden is the popular jock with a bigger ego than brain. Maya never thought there'd be a reason for them to, like, interact. But when the biggest mistake of her life lands her in need of a seriously devious plan, she discovers Camden isn't as dumb as he looks. And now that Maya's playing the bad girl (lying, cheating, swindling, and, um, shopping), she might as well do it right and flirt with the bad boy. . .

To Enter-EMAIL ADDRESS (you do not have to be a follower, I've decided not to force people to follow my blog just to win a book. I don't want you to follow me just for free books)

U.S. only!

Leave a meaningful comment with something you want to see more of at Reading in Color (i.e. reviews, interviews, discussion posts, etc.). Or something that could be improved. You can't say my blog is good as is (well you can but you have to add a suggestion of some sort), there's always room for improvement =)

+2 If you ask a question at snubbr.com (leave the link to the question in your comment)

  1. I'd like to see your blog with a wider margin. I know you're tech challenged like me. I wish someone would volunteer to give you a makeover you want. I know you have some things you'd like to have but don't have time to do.

I really would like to read Cloud Mountain, too.

  2. As someone who works with mostly Latino/a high school students, I'd love to see a list of suggested YA lit with Latino main characters that aren't in gangs! Thanks for entering me!

Oh, and when I try to subscribe by email I get "an error occurred while contacting the server".

  3. Three columns. For some reason, when everythings on one sidebar it drives me crazy.

  4. Maybe lists of recommendations for regions around the world? That would make it easy to find a book to read when looking for something different. :)

  5. I know shamefully little of this is published, so it might be hard to find, but I'd love to see more alternate-world fantasy with PoC protagonists. Alternate-world fantasy is my favorite genre, but it sometimes seems sadly lacking in melanin, at least in main-character roles. :P

    Thanks!

  6. I'd love to read your thoughts on "Liar" by Justine Larbastier, if you haven't reviewed it already. Open ended endings give me a headache.

    Thanks.

  8. I think you're content is spot on, but I'm not so sure about the layout. :) The color scheme is a little bland, I think. BUT I love the header image!

    Thanks for running this contest!
