Tomorrow, Jan. 5 I will be Blogs Her Color's Color of Choice. This means my blog will be spotlighted at their site and hopefully, I'll get some new visitors :) I'm writing this post today, because I may not be on my computer for very long tomorrow since I have finals to study for =/
I'm honored to be the Color of Choice blog and I hope everyone checks out the site. Blogs Her Color is a wonderful, warm community of African American female bloggers. I highly encourage everyone to check out the site and the blogs listed in the Directory
Reading in Color is a blog I started back in July of 2009 due to frustration and love of books. In June of '09 I had discovered the fun world of teen book blogs and I grew frustrated by the lack of books about people of color being reviewed for teens. I wanted to find new titles to read about teens who looked like me or were different from the white norm. Reading in Color is a place where you can always find books for teens being reviewed about people of color (poc), you will see very few books on my blog with a teen white protagonist.
So to all the ladies visiting from Blogs Her Color, welcome and I hope you poke around a bit. I recommend you check out my sidebar for giveaways, challenges I'm participating in and my reviews.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being spotlighted! It's great you put up links to some of your previous posts, because I too am somewhat new to your blog, and reading those posts give me a sense of where you're coming from. =)
ReplyDeleteHope you do well with finals.
congrats on being spotlighted, I hope that it helps spread the work about your blog! I definitely agree that there aren't enough reviews about books whose main characters are poc (and it's something I should do more of myself).
ReplyDeleteYou also won my contest, I'm not sure if you got my email. If not, send me an email here: cornucopiaofreviews@gmail.com
