Because I Love You, Books, the Holidays and Having No School...GIVEAWAY!

I LOVE the Holidays! Mainly because I get a two week break from school which will consist of me reading as much as I can (without neglecting family and friends)! Although I have finals a week after school starts again, how lame :(

Anyway, since I love all my followers and commenters and silent lurkers I'm giving away a $20 Borders giftcard! Whoohoo :) I chose that because I think the best holiday gift I can give someone is the money to buy whatever book they want. There is a catch though: I'm asking that you use the giftcard to buy books with poc. You can buy at least 2 books with a $20 Borders giftcard and I request that you show some love to writers of color (and non-writers of color who write about poc). It's the honor system though, since obviously I can't force you to get the books.

The details

Who: International! (No one should be left out on the holidays)

What: $20 Borders Giftcard.

When: Dec. 18-Dec. 27 (What better way to go into the New Year than with books?!)

To enter: Leave me a comment with at least one book you would buy with this giftcard. Must be about a POC (person of color). And saying you don't know any poc will get you disqualified! You guys have to work a little if you don't know ANY books with poc, use Google :) (ohh or *hint hint* check out my blog, or my blogroll). Leave an email address as well!

+5 Being the first person to comment on any posts with no comments (needs to have a bit of depth not just 'Great review')
+1 linking to the giveaway in your sidebar (leave a link. If you don't have a blog then you can Tweet about it, although I don't have a Twitter account. If you have neither, leave a comment/email letting me know so I can think of something and add it here)
+2 If you refer someone here (mention who sent you)
+1 If you leave a funny or sweet holiday story
+5 If you send a thank you card to a soldier (again this is on your honor, I trust you all. Click on the Xerox Let's say Thanks widget in my sidebar. Let me know if you sent one and which one you sent). Really, this should be automatic, after all our soldiers do SO MUCH for us and we should ALL be appreciative regardless of how we feel about war!

Hmmm maybe you can a +2 for commenting on any other reviews or posts that pop between now and Dec. 27? We'll see :)

Best wishes everyone and Happy Holidays!

Sorry if this is a duplicate comment. I started a comment, then left to send the troop message and came back to an empty box, but "your comment was published" and I wasn't done! Happy Holidays!

+1 holiday story. Last year my then 7 yr old son got a bunch of GC from Target. He has always loved trains and wanted a "real" train set. Well they are way to expensive for us, so we never got him one. After Christmas we went to Target so he could spend his GCs. The Polor Express train set was on clearance and he had enough money for it. He carried this HUGE box through Target saying it was the best day of his life! Very cute :)
