(Almost as excited as I am!)

As far as the title goes, there's actually an interesting story about that-- the book actually had a different title for a good while, but it just wasn't working for any of us, so we started looking around and yes, I did take the title from the song of the same name, however-- the version I love is by the Irish group, The Corrs featuring U2's Bono. Definitely not country sounding at all and in fact, the lyrics really do fit very well with the theme of the book:

Dancin' where the stars go blue
Dancin' where the evening fell
Dancin' in your wooden shoes
In a wedding gown

Dancin' out on 7th street
Dancin' through the underground
Dancin' little marionette
Are you happy now?

Where do you go when you're lonely
Where do you go when you're blue
Where do you go when you're lonely
I'll follow you
When the stars go blue

Laughing with your pretty mouth
Laughing with your broken eyes
Laughing with your lover's tongue
In a lullaby

Where do you go when you're lonely
Where do you go when you're blue
Where do you go when you're lonely
I'll follow you
When the stars go blue
The stars go blue, stars go blue

(copyright Ryan Adams)

The chorus and the second and third versus in particular I find to be very poignant and very much in line with the book's themes which made it a great choice for the book and luckily, everyone at St. Martin's seemed to love it as well.

So there's the story of the book's title, where it came from and why it stuck. :-)

Why is November SO far away!Barbara Caridad Ferrerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09819588291534894141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5255886452367019317.post-67238142920822927932010-07-22T22:02:46.847-05:002010-07-22T22:02:46.847-05:00@anachronist-Ooo a nonfiction pick, very different...@anachronist-Ooo a nonfiction pick, very different!

@campbele-I concur!

@Abby-I really liked this author's previous book, Adios to My Old Life so I was following her blog posts and she started mentioning this book as her WiP and I was so eager for her to finish!

@Mardel-Look it up, it's a haunting and addictive story. Basically Carmen is this temptress who has two men interested in her. I love dancing, always wished I knew how to dance flamenco.

@Kris-Didn't know this was a country song (not much of a surprise so I rarely listen to the genre) but that is problematic! Weir...I'm looking forward to this release, too! Weirdly enough, every time I read the title I am reminded of the country song by the same name. It does not go at all with the theme of this book! I want to think "sexy" but instead I have images of cowboys in my head...Kris (Voracious YAppetite)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17764644281859703177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5255886452367019317.post-16597861107110861992010-07-21T20:47:45.814-05:002010-07-21T20:47:45.814-05:00I'm not sure I know the story of Carmen.
